The woman reached out slowly, clasping the gloved hand with her own. How unusual this morning turned out to be. She hadn't really expected to have a run-in with Cyril this early in the morning. Not that she had been complaining, she felt it to be more of a...Pleasant coincidence. And soon they started to dance.Moments seemed as if they were suspended in time, floating in the facade that humans made of it. They passed by slowly, while one may find it to be more of a hell more than anything, Tessa felt it was quite lovely..
Cyril moved with such grace, it was as if his feet were not on the floor at all. While she was not as graceful as the man, Tessa did manage to keep up. He spun her with ease, lifted her off the ground and placed her down with a swift movement of his powerful arms. Tessa would have been extremely impressed if it were not for the display she witnessed the night before. But as soon as she noticed how slow time seemed to be moving, it was all over. That was what really baffled Tessa. She looked down to their hands before her eyes took sight of Cyril's captivating gray orbs behind those glasses. She felt as if she would be content simply gazing in them for hours on end. Her lips parted, slowly, as if she were to utter out a few words for the man to hear.
Instead, the fates twisted into a different direction. Tessa soon felt a cold hand on her cheek, not gloved as opposed to the ones that were holding onto her hands with such care, in such a gingerly manner. She turned a bit to see the mass of gray-and-blue hair, as well as that mischievous grin planted firmly on thin, pallored lips. "You know, Tessa, dear... You never did introduce me to your friend here. Such a pity.." The head of the mysterious Kaito, while his chin was nuzzled lovingly in the slight curve of Tessa's shoulder, turned only slightly to take a look at a seemingly aggravated Cyril. "Though.. he seems a little boring."
How dare he! Cyril stared for a few moments, eyes slightly widened in the shock. "Bite that blatant tongue of yours!" he hissed, though as soon as he glanced back to the beautiful blond, he seemed to calm down significantly. As if he had an unusual balance in emotions. He smiled sweetly, parting his own lips, "Tessa... If it is not too much to ask, who is this...uncouth gentleman?" While the words came out in a perfect, silky flow, there was a hidden sense of hostility. Who in the world was this man? He must have been the one there before, the voice he thought he heard earlier. Looks like his ears weren't deceiving him at all. Kaito didn't seem to be phased by the other man's choice of words at all. The smile on his lips spread as much as it possibly could. He was overflowing from ear to ear. The word to best describe the certain 'aura' eminating from the man was, indeed, espiègle.
"You're a funny man.. But not too bright, am I correct?" This was a ruse, all of the teasing, the lack of caring for the other man's feelings. All of it was a test to see his reactions, see if the apologectic male could catch on to it.. But from the looks of it, one glance of Tessa was enough to calm him down and put him in a totally different mood. He tested the theory in mind as Cyril started to fume once again. Without a word, he wrapped his long arms around Tessa and hauled her in front of him. She smiled weakly, turning her head to glance over her shoulder and at her boss. She didn't need to utter even a single sentence for Kaito knew what she was asking. And he replied almost immediately in a way of communication most unfamiliar. Telepathy.
This sent a shiver through her spine. Tessa disliked that little ability very much. It was as if someone was taking a look at her brain before using sharp tools to slowly skin the walls of the organ so it bled out each and every secret she had locked in the deepest, most intimate parts of her mind. For a moment she marveled at the dark description. It was as if the warm fuzzies she received from morbid, poetic descriptions were coming back to greet her during this rather awkward moment..
"In the end, my conclusion has been proved to be a reality.. You're mad. Quite bonkers, insane, even..." He hugged Tessa close to him so much that the woman had to shift around to make sure she could breathe. He swayed side to side, trying to give the appearance of an over protective, doting father figure. This was rather interesting to watch, considering the silver haired male was resorting to flailing his arms in the air as he spoke angrily. "You, sir, must have a death wish. To simply invite yourself in a lady's home and then bluntly insult her company?! Who do you-"
Kaito said nothing, he only held a finger to Cyril's lips, teasingly pressing his long nail into the other man's soft facial flesh,"And it seems you lack manners, I didn't finish yet... Your insanity is rather refreshing. To see you switch moods from a raging madman to that of a lovesick puppy in the presence of this lovely lass.. It's quite hilarious to bear witness!" From Kaito's lips erupted a bone chilling chuckle that lasted for a few seconds. Yet to whoever would be listening would seem to have dragged on for hours on end.
Cyril stood there, index finger pointed in the air, glasses sliding down his thin nose and hair completely unkempt. So many things were conflicting within him. He felt angry at this man for all of his assumptions, embarrassed from the fact that his love for the woman seemed to be so obvious to this man and not to Tessa herself, and shocked to hear that he had been called insane and other like terms. "I... Do not know what to make of that..... What I can say, though, is this: I don't like you. At all." Nobody said that honesty had to be sugar coated in any way.
Kaito chuckled once again, taking his arms off of Tessa. He folded them behind him, walking up to Cyril until the tips of their noses were touching. Talk about diminishing personal space. Tessa watched the two, fearful something might happen. She moved immediately, lifting a finger before time had stopped dead in its tracks. And it all happened by the simple snap of Kaito's fingers. A smirk appeared on his lips once Cyril seemed to sport a look of surprise.
"It would be in your best intentions to recognize who you are talking to, shinigami. I am not a human, nor am I a force to be reckoned with. Just because you are in favor with my dolly doesn't mean you will always be on my good side." Funny enough his voice harbored no hatred nor any slight intentions of intimidation. Kaito only spoke what was simply on his mind. Cyril stared at the mass of hair covering this man's eyes. He hated not being able to see what the man's thoughts were. He said not a word, simply nodded before turning.
"Threaten me all you want. I can handle myself. And who are you to address Tessa as your 'dolly'? What sort of authority gives you that luxury?" If it could even be called that. Kaito tilted his head to the side slowly, eerily, before the grin came back onto his lips. Needless to say, Cyril was always too involved with watching Tessa to care who was accompanying her, so the next few words would come as a slight 'surprise'. "I'm her boss."
