Cyril experienced no shock or horror at the news after it sunk in. That was right. She had an employer who assisted in burying people. He stared at the gray haired male for the longest of times, trying to decipher who, moreover what he was. There was this air around him that seemed all too familiar. Powerful..The world started to spin around Cyril after tht realization. Things were coming in fuzzy. Even Tessa's lovely voice was coming in and out.
"Cyril....Are you...alright...?" He heard the words at half the speed she was speaking, his body grew heavier than he last recalled and soon he was on the floor. The silver haired man was paralyzed. He could hear things going on around him and move his digits, but only slightly. Tessa was the one to express shock and surprise at this display of power. She also knew it was exceedingly strong, it was actually hurting her as well. It put a heavy pressure on the blond's chest for a while before it faded as if it were nothing.
"Kaito, what are you doing?" She asked in a slight panic, head whipping back between him and the immobilized Cyril. "Why did you feel you had to immobilize him completely?!" She stared at him, trying to decipher an answer but to her misfortune his hair was in the way. That thick curtain of gray. She could often see through it and to his eyes to what he was thinking but it seemed as if he was concealing himself on purpose. He only smiled and shook his head slightly. "I have no intentions of harming him, but what I need is not only his attention but yours as well."
Tessa listened carefully. For Kaito to show the extent of his power that he did, it had to be something that did not deal with the earthly duties she and this man performed together. He swished his head to the side, the gray curtain sweeping aside to reveal his gorgeously feral, golden-reddish eyes and the circus-like scars that ran down both of them. Yes, it truly had to be something! Kaito didn't show his eyes for just anything anymore. Tessa frowned deeply and almost immediately she had an idea of what he was going to perhaps bring up.
"Something in one of our realms is not right. I can feel it." Kaito only nodded in acknowledgement. She turned to look to Cyril and waived a hand, nullifying Kaito's power over his body. Cyril regained compulsure and fixed himself to look as he did when he first arrived before looking to Tessa and Kaito. He knew that her knowledge of clean kills and her easygoing attitude of what had transpired the night before couldn't come from that of a human.
For a mere moment, despite what severity would lay ahead, Cyril felt overwhelmed with happiness. He would not have to worry about this woman perishing and growing old without him! He brushed the thought aside, though, and looked to Kaito. It was obvious, though, in his gray, slit eyes, that he was not happy with the forced floor-nap.
"I have not been in contact with the Shinigami realm as of late, but I've heard rumors that some are planning to take control of it. This would mean not only the end to the Reaper Project, but to your realms..As well as Earth."
"I can only imagine what horrors must be going on in the minds of those conspiring against your head council. What is it, though, that we can do, Kaito?" Tessa's eyes had been on Cyril as he had spoken but she was more curious as to what Kaito was expecting them to do.
"The only thing that we can do: Fight back. We will not only have to fend off offending forces within our city, but on the twenty-ninth of the month, we will have to head into the realm of Shinigami. We will then have to travel around to consult with Death himself. With any luck, the entire Shinigami army will be deployed and this failed attempt at power can be put to rest."
A silence overcame the three for what seemed to be an eternity. Cyril was the first to speak up and it was to Tessa. He grasped a hand, a look of pleading in his eyes, "If your...boss...is telling this with extensive knowledge to the both of us, then I would expect that we need to go and work together as a team. I only want to ensure that you want to do this..The last thing I would want would be for you to be severely injured." He released her hand, awaiting some sort of answer or acknowledgement of his words, which was what he soon got when Tessa nodded her head.
"I have no qualms with going..In fact.." she paused, a rather devious smile now starting to surface on her lips while a plan bubbled and boiled in that mind of hers, "It might be fun. I've only ever heard such tales of Death and the realm he so proudly rules over."
Kaito nodded in approval, throwing his hands up in the air happily, his elongated sleeves soon flapping over like that of a young child in his father's shirt. "Wonderful! But we have a little over a week until that adventure begins. Deal with whatever demons, literal or metaphorical, you can within the confines of London. There will be numerous enemies after both of your pretty heads, I wouldn't take them to be easy targets." He paused, now taking on a grim, serious tone, "But be wary of your surroundings. Trust nobody but the people within this room. Learn all that you can that way you can easily decipher fact from fiction. There are many sorts of imposters in the world, you never know when one will try to use your skin. In more ways than one~"
And with that, he spun on his heel, apparently done with his message. He took a few steps before fading completely, leaving the room with a more lighter air. It was as if a giant weight had been taken off of both Tessa and Cyril's shoulders, and they were relieved for that, but the upcoming 'mission' was still on both of their minds.
"We still have a week.." Cyril repeated to himself, thinking it over. It was still a perfect time to get to know the lovely woman beside him. He could woo her, know even more about her from her own mouth rather than close observation, even perhaps get around to admitting that he is the writer of her anonymous love letters.
Or perhaps he would do the first two things and wait on the third for reasons he wouldn't even admit to himself. Cyril shook it off, smiling weakly as he squinted at the floods of light that came into the room, "What do you think, Tessa, dear? I bet you're just thrilled that you're stuck with me as a traveling companion, hm?" He couldn't help but laugh and shake his head, his silver ponytail tickling at his back.
